About

The Six Bells is a family run pub and restaurant, which has been lovingly renovated in 2020 to bring a modern feeling to this historic building. We offer local draft ales and lagers, an extensive wine list, as well as a delicious seasonal dining menu.

Come and join us by the fireplace for coffee, in the sunny conservatory for breakfast or in our modern restaurant for dinner, with views into the open kitchen and beer garden. We pride ourselves in being a family friendly business, all children are welcome, we offer a great homemade children’s menu – catering for any dietary/ allergy requirements. We are a dog friendly pub and inn, with muddy paws welcome in the main bar, snug and conservatory.

Refurbishment

To date the refurbishment has focused on:

Restaurant

• The kitchen and its conversion to wholly electric

• improving and extending the central heating

• converting what was previously known as the function room. That room is complete and will be used for special events, available to use for private parties and dining experiences. The Six Bells also showcases the first example of “Art at the Six Bells’. Landscape original oil paintings by local artist Gaila Adair – all available for sale.

Rooms

Our 4 letting rooms which are all en-suite. These are now complete and comprise:
• one double room;
• two King rooms;
• one twin bed room. The 2 single beds can be arranged as a 6ft super king

Toilets

New toilet facilities. These now comprise 4 separate cubicles and one disabled/baby changing facility. All are fully tiled with attention to the new environment.

FOOD

Our Chef

The kitchen is led by head chef, Paul Verney. Paul prides himself on using fresh local produce to create a range of interesting, tasty, seasonal dishes as well as pub classics. The menu changes regularly depending on the availability of seasonal produce. We are happy to cater for all allergies and intolerances and have a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available.

Produce

All our produce is sourced locally, using well known suppliers such as Vicars game and Fisher of Newbury, with the intention of broadening our local suppliers in the future. We have created a sustainable a sustainable menu, with many vegetarian and vegan options.

Children

We pride ourselves in being a family friendly business, all children are welcome, we offer a great homemade children’s menu – catering for any dietary/ allergy requirements.
